Communications Manager, Asia Pacific (1- Year Contract)

Reporting Line: Head of Centre of Marketing Excellence), APAC

Purpose of Position:

  • Foreign MNC  is looking for a strategic thinker to partner with and act as a trusted adviser to regional business heads, key businesses and HR to ensure the internal and external communications aligns with business priorities and overall communications plans and delivers a consistent tone of voice and style.
  • Partnering with the cluster Communications teams, the person will drive the effectiveness of company-wide communications  programs,  campaigns  and  strategies,  in  partnership  with  Global Corporate Communications, APAC HR and regional teams.
  • The person will be connecting internal stakeholders and experts, ensuring the right stories are being told in the best way to maximise efficiency and impact, and help Asia Pacific succinctly articulate messages.

Principal responsibilities:

Promoting brand within APAC

  • Develop  and  implement  initiatives  such  as  but  not  limited  to  discussion  forums, newsletters to engage and inform external stakeholders (customers, communities, government  agencies,  prospective employees,  investors and joint venture  partners)  of key developments in Asia Pacific.
  • Write speeches /develop presentations as required for senior leaders.
  • Writing and design of key messages to customers on behalf of company and its senior leadership team.

Guidance and supporting in-country teams

  • Offer external communications counsel and support in establishing and actively managing an integrated communications approach, involving internal, digital and external (PR) communications wherever necessary.
  • Development of standard protocols and guidelines for in-country teams on media interactions and crisis communications. Organize and facilitate virtual training sessions on communications related guidelines.
  • Support and co-ordinate communications activities in event of crisis.

Media Monitoring

  • Proactively gathering related news in the public domain with particular focus on
  • Asia Pacific. This includes mainstream media, social media and industry forums.
  • Work closely with marketing team to consolidate news and announcements by competitors.
  • Consolidate feedback with implications to business and recommended follow-up actions.

Events Management

  • Project   manage   both   internal   &    external   events   such   as   conferences   and openings/signings. Ensuring the event is aligns with company’s positioning as technology and market leader whilst delivering the desired impact for the audience.
  • Interface  and  coordination  of all internal  and  external  stakeholders  including senior leaders on their roles and deliverables for the event.
  • Post event follow-up including feedback, analysis and leads management.


Required qualifications/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent  in prior marketing, journalism or communications experience. Master’s degree, highly desired.
  • 5  years   of  experience   across   corporate   communications,   preferably   within  the construction consultancy, advisory, legal, architecture, or real estate industries.
  • Superior written, analytical and oral communications skills; very detail oriented.  Strong copywriting skills and ability to identify and shape key messages.
  • An ability to identify critical messages and unique selling points, and clearly and effectively communicate them, and to modify standard text to meet the specific requirements of each new assignment.
  • A proven ability to successfully mentor and supervise employees.
  • Passionate about and focused on doing the right things to support business success. Should  be  a  self-starter   and  possess  a  strong  ability  to  handle  multiple  projects simultaneously to tight deadlines, with an ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Strong writer and editor. Creative visual storyteller. Inquisitive. Creativity, critical thinking, ability and confidence to advise senior managers and problem solve, to shape digital communications strategies and plans.
  • Results-oriented, creative and meticulous with keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to show visual communications and writing samples across a variety of communications channels.
